Riccardo Federici
Riccardo Federici developed an early interest in drawing and painting while playing the drums. After getting his art diploma, he attended the faculty of Architecture at “La Sapienza” University of Rome. At the same time, he studied physiology. He drew anatomical illustrations, children comic strips, ad campaign illustrations until 2005 when he signed an edition contract for the realization of two comic books “La Madone de Pellini 1-2”. In 2009, he continued the graphic work of “Saria”, begun by one of the greatest comics author: Paolo Serpieri. Each and every page of that album is a painting, one needs only sifting through it to realize it, but his desire for creation lead him to painting, mostly with oils, and to sculpting, never renouncing his background: comics. He was willing, however, to transcend them, to bring them to cutting edge concepts and materials. Riccardo Federici was the first comic artist whose works have been exposed at the Biennale of Rome, next to the greatest contemporary painters and photographers. Riccardo Federici is also a professor at various private artart academies . Currently, he is working with Editions Delcourt (Saria 3), DC Comics, DC Black Label, DC Collectibles, Marvel Comics, Dynamate, Darkhorse, Blizzard Entertainment and others, XM Studios and at the same time, he organizes workshops of paint, illustration, comics, concept design and more in Europe
